Commercial Harry Potter party supplies consist of many components to take your pick from: party invitations, tableware, goody bags, party favors, decorations, personalized Harry Potter notes, buttons, tags, banners are available to customize your party with, all of which can set the mood for the magical event. You might not be able to send your invitations by owl, but they’ll still be wizardly. When your fellow muggle guests make their journey, perhaps by car rather than Hogwarts Express or Floo Powder, have them navigate through Diagon Alley. As for what to serve your guests, try some Harry Potter classic cuisine like Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Acid Pops, and some butterbeer (non alcoholic if this is a party for children). All of these wizard favorites can be emulated with muggle ingredients like flour, sugar, lollipops, spice cakes, and cream soda.
If you really want to entertain your guests, you might set up a game of Quidditch. Since this is originally a game that requires flight, you might incorporate running instead. A snitch can easily be made using craft foam, and you can get creative with how you’re going to set up a playing field. As you can see, Harry Potter party supplies don’t necessarily have to be particularly fancy or expensive. Use your imagination to make magic—be creative!
If it’s a sleep over party or you have a lot of time, be sure to watch one of your favorite Harry Potter movies on the DVD player or do dramatic reading/acting out of someof your favorite scenes. You could even play Harry Potter themed charades. Try adapting some of your regular party ideas to be Harry-style.
